Brooke Garland

Law Clerk

Brooke Garland is a student at Morgan State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Pre-Law. She is an active member of the Mock Trial Team, an experience that pushed her beyond her comfort zone and helped her grow both academically and personally. Through mock trial, she has learned how to think on her feet, speak with confidence, and approach challenges with focus, preparation, and determination. Being part of a
competitive, fast-paced environment has strengthened not only her legal skills, but also her  work ethic, resilience, and ability to adapt under pressure.

Beyond the classroom, Brooke has a background in policy and advocacy work, including involvement in initiatives focused on autopsy law and civil rights law. Through this work, she gained meaningful exposure to the ways legal processes impact real people, particularly in cases involving transparency, accountability, and equal protection. These experiences shaped her understanding of how deeply the law affects families and communities, especially those that are often overlooked or underserved. They have also reinforced her belief that legal systems should be accessible, fair, and responsive to the needs of the public.

Brooke is especially interested in the intersection of law, social justice, and reform. She is driven by a deep sense of purpose, a strong desire to serve others, and a commitment to continuous learning and growth. Whether in academic spaces or community-centered environments, she strives to approach every opportunity with integrity, compassion, and determination. She looks forward to continuing her journey in the legal field and contributing to meaningful, lasting change
